What is Zero1 Desert Adventures powered by RZR?
Experience the Polaris RZR vehicles through a guided tour of some of the most scenic terrain of the Mojave Desert surrounding Las Vegas. Choose from 2 hour, 3 hour or half day Adventures. Reservations are required. Restrictions apply.
What types of vehicles are used for the adventure?
Zero1 Desert Adventures is a factory supported program that uses the newest Polaris RZR vehicles on the market. The current fleet consists of 2015 Polaris RZR XP1000 EPS vehicles.
Is the Desert Adventure program a guided tour?
Yes, all of our programs are guided tours through some of the most scenic terrain surrounding Las Vegas. The tours will consist of varying terrain that will range from slow and technical to more open and fast. The guided tour allows everyone to safely experience the thrill of driving these amazing off road machines while enjoying the scenery of the Mojave Desert.
How old do I have to be to participate?
Drivers must be 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Riders must be at least 14 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age must have parental consent to participate as a driver or rider.
Is transportation provided to the Zero1 Desert Adventures powered by RZR base camp?
Yes, we offer complementary transportation from and back to the Las Vegas Strip. There are designated pick up locations/times that correspond with scheduled tours. Transportation must be arranged/chosen at the time of tour reservation. Check online for pick up locations/times.
Do I have to use Zero1 Transportation?
No, you are welcome to drive to the Zero1Base Camp located at 21016 Las Vegas Blvd South, Jean, NV 89019. We have secured parking available at Base Camp. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time to check in.
Driving Directions to RZR Base Camp:
Zero1 Base Camp is located at 21016 Las Vegas Blvd South. It is approximately 20 minutes south of the MGM resort. The easiest way to get to Base Camp is to take I-15 South toward Los Angeles and then take exit 25 at Sloan Road. Continue on Las Vegas Blvd South for 9.5 miles. Base Camp will be the on the right.
Are the RZR’s easy to drive?
Yes, the 2015 Polaris RZR XP 1000 vehicles have the latest and greatest technology, including all-wheel-drive, electronic power steering and automatic (Centrifugal) gear box which makes them very capable of handling the off road terrain. They are equipped with roll over protection and seat belts. They do however have 110 horsepower and must be driven properly for the off-road conditions.
Is there any training about the vehicles before the adventure starts?
Yes, all participants will go through a brief vehicle and safety orientation. Your guide will get you familiar with the RZR vehicles, how to drive the off-road terrain and how radio communication is handled during the tour. Total training time is approximately 30 minutes.
What should I wear?
You should dress according to the weather conditions. Keep in mind that the off-road vehicles do not have windshields so it will feel colder than the current temperature. Be aware that you will likely experience dust (and sometimes mud) on the tour so plan accordingly.Close-toed shoes (sneakers) are mandatory. Please no flip-flops, sandals or high heels.
Can I bring my own helmet?
That depends. Our vehicles are equipped with on board radio communication. All drivers must be able to hear and talk to the guide or support cars during the tour. We use PCI radio systems in our vehicles. If you have a helmet that will work with the PCI system, you are welcome to wear it. Helmets must be full face or you must have proper goggles if using a motocross type helmet.
Am I responsible if there is damage to the vehicle?
Drivers are required to pay a drivers release fee of $25 per person. This release fee will exempt them from damages that occur on the tour as long as the damage was not a result of negligence. Negligence includes not following the directions of the professional guide. Participants will sign release/waivers upon arrival at the base camp.
Will there be stops during the adventure tour?
Yes, each tour has pre-determined stopping points. These stopping points will be brief and will serve as great places to take photos, grab a water or snack and to switch drivers (if you are sharing the driving time).
Are there restrooms available during the tour?
No. The tours take place in the Mojave Desert and there are no restroom facilities available… only nature’s restrooms. There are restrooms at Base Camp. Your guide will carry supplies if needed during the tour. There are restrooms available at the Pioneer Saloon if your tour includes a stop at that location (Half Day Adventures).
Can I do the Desert Adventure with a group?
Yes, the adventure tour is perfect for families, friends or a group of co-workers. Group packages are available for 6 or more people. Maximum group size for a tour is 16. (We can customize a program for groups larger than 16). All participants must meet the age requirements. Please contact us at (702) 361-9100 or firstname.lastname@example.org for group information.
There is a $75 fee charged for any cancellations or changes made more than 30 days prior to the experience date. Cancellation or changes made less than 30 days prior to experience date are subject to forfeit the entire amount.
Are there any height/weight restrictions?
Can I purchase a gift card for Zero1Desert Adventure?
Not at this time.
Can my friends/family come to watch?
Participants will be driving in the desert and there unfortunately is no place for spectators.
Do I have to sign any waivers before participation?
Yes. All waivers will be emailed to you with your confirmation and you may sign upon arrival at the base camp.
